How to create a facial using ingredients from your kitchen
Oatmeal has been used for centuries as a soothing agent to relieve itch and irritation. Oats are rich in beta-glucans, which can reduce skin inflammation, activate immune cells and stimulate your skins collagen. They are also rich in saponins, which are chemical compounds found in plants. These saponins give oatmeal cleansing, moisturizing and soothing qualities that are wonderfully nourishing.
Our other soothing friend, honey, is a natural antibacterial so it's great for acne treatment and prevention. It is also rich in antioxidants, which fight against causes of aging. Honey is extremely moisturizing and helps to create a glowing complexion. Raw and unfiltered honey works best while processed honey has removed a lot of antioxidants and nutrients.
- Take Oatmeal or Oat flour from your cupboard,
- Add water to make a paste,
- Heat (optional) according to your particular products directions – heat helps to open your pores and soften the honey.
- Once heated add honey.
